Black Pure Pashmina Hand Embroidered Sozni Saree
All-Over Sozni Embroidery · Pure Pashmina · No Blouse
An extraordinary saree in pure pashmina — a fabric more commonly found in shawls, here woven as a saree and then covered entirely in hand embroidered Sozni needlework. The jet-black ground is densely filled with an all-over jaal of flowering plant bouquets and circular chakri motifs in Sozni embroidery: magenta, orange-red, yellow-green, blue and white thread work fills every inch of the fabric. A narrow red silk border runs along all edges, and delicate fringe finishes the hem. No blouse piece included. A once-in-a-lifetime piece.

Sozni embroidery is Kashmir's most refined needle art — each stitch placed by hand using a fine needle, building up intricate patterns over months of work. Doing this on a pashmina saree (rather than a shawl) makes this piece exceptionally rare: pashmina is not traditionally woven in saree length, and covering the entire surface in Sozni work represents hundreds of hours of craftsmanship. This is not just a saree — it is an heirloom.
