The person behind the sarees
Meet the Founder
I am Kiran Sawhney, the founder of Sohum Sutras.

My journey with textiles began long before Sohum Sutras was born. Over the years, my travels across India and around the world introduced me to diverse weaving traditions, artisanal crafts, and the stories woven into every handmade textile. What started as a personal passion gradually evolved into a mission—to celebrate and preserve the beauty of handcrafted fabrics while bringing them to women who value authenticity, elegance, and craftsmanship.
At Sohum Sutras, we curate handloom sarees, suit sets, and textiles that are rooted in tradition yet relevant to contemporary lifestyles. Each piece is chosen with care, not only for its beauty but also for the skill, heritage, and dedication of the artisans behind it.
I believe that clothing is more than fabric; it is a reflection of culture, identity, and personal expression. Through Sohum Sutras, I hope to create a meaningful connection between artisans and discerning women who appreciate the artistry of handmade textiles.
When you choose a piece from Sohum Sutras, you are not simply purchasing a garment—you are becoming part of a story that celebrates craftsmanship, sustainability, and timeless elegance.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
Warmly,
Kiran Sawhney
